Making progress is easy as a thought but when it comes to actually taking the appropriate steps, it becomes much harder. We can daydream and imagine all day but until we actually do the work, we are stuck. Sometimes, there is so much comfort in what is familiar so we stay in that place. The saddest thing, in my opinion, is that so many people are UNHAPPY in that familiar space but they just accept it and stay put. What a waste of time! Imagine being forty or fifty and still operating from a comfort zone. Don't get me wrong, it is NEVER too late to change for the better but one must focus on the road ahead. Too many people love to look in the rearview mirror when they don't even live there anymore.
I think that is the reason many people still THINK they love or like their first loves. In reality, they don't even know that person anymore but they are still infatuated with the thought of what WAS or could have been. That is backwards! A first love or ex may always hold a special place but if it didn't work, accept it, and move on.
One thing that I firmly believe is that "the lesson repeats until it is learned". God has a way of taking us through the SAME scenarios is we refuse to learn the lessons. For me, God's word is the ONLY word. When HE moves me out of a situation, I STAY out of that situation. I don't go back into what he removed me from. Why would I ?
Accept the lessons of the past but dare to do something different. We can move mountains with just a little faith and work. Go build something for your great, great, great, great grandkids. Leave a good legacy. Stop wasting time because it's running out. Make the best of it!
